38 weeks and ready to go!!!

We are now at the 38 week mark and had our weekly drs appt on friday. Not much new to report on. I am now dilated to 2, more than 50% effaced and dr says my cervix is soft and ready to go. I am hoping that I do not make it to the 40 week mark and that we go into labor some time this week.

We had our labor class this weekend which was helpful to teach us all of the different birthing positions. Chris did great job watching all of the detailed birthing videos without cringing like some of the dads!! :)

Besides that we are just waiting, waiting, and waiting. Chris is convinced I will go into labor during the superbowl and he won't get to watch it. I have been having some contractions, but nothing regular or increasing in intensity. I will be sure to update when we have more to report!!

37 weeks!

We had our doctors appt yesterday and we are happy to say that she is no longer breech!!!! Yay I am so happy about this. I thought I had been feeling a lot more pressure in my pelvis, so that must be cuz her head is down. It was great to get another ultrasound and a definite reassurance that yes she is a little girl. She looked so cute on the ultrasound and it looked like she was sucking her thumb.

The doctor checked my cervix and that I was dialated to 1 and 50% thinned or effaced. He said he was surprised by that and that he could feel my bag of water and her head and that she was pretty far down already!!

I have been having a lot of braxton hicks contractions and some ocassional painful ones too. Chris and I predict that there is no way I am making it to my due date! Chris says he knows she is coming on the day of the super bowl!! ha ha

Also the dr said that we were not having a little tike at all. He said she feels like she's already 7lbs and if we go to term were looking at a 9lb baby!! This sounds scary to me, but I must say that I was not surprised by it. Anybody who's seen my belly lately can see that I am very large!

Other than that I am still working! I am going to work this weekend and maybe a couple days this week and then I am done. Next weekend we have our birthing class, if I make it that long! The nursery is done, hospital bags are packed, and we are ready for this baby!

Baby Shower

On Sunday the girls I work with threw my coworker Katie and I a baby shower! Angela, Tracy, and Jessica did such a great job decorating and planning games. Thanks girls! Also Tracy brought such a cute cake! I've added a pic of it along with some others. Chris and I had such a great time and were very thankful for all of the lovely presents!

almost 36 weeks!

Almost at 36 weeks!! It's hard to believe it's almost time but I must say the last couple of weeks have been dragging by! I have very limited energy these days and am finding a full work day very difficult. I am looking forward to the start of my maternity leave, which we think will be around jan. 27th.

I had another drs appt last week and everything is measuring great. The only problem is that baby is still breech. We have another appt next friday and we get to have another ultrasound to see if she's turned or not. If she's still breech I will be getting an external version. This is basically them trying to turn her by placing their hands on my stomach and trying to turn her! It sounds like it hurts so fingers crossed that she flips!

The nursery is just about finished. We just want to get a glider rocker in the room and then we will be all done! On sunday the gals I work with are throwing me and another coworker a baby shower and I am really excited for that. It should be a ton of fun. I've also posted some new belly pics!
