Just got back from Sophie's 6 month appt. check up and we found out that she also has an ear infection. We thought that she just had a little cold or was cutting teeth again, but I guess we were wrong. Anyway she will be on antibiotics for 10 days. She was 21.5 lbs and 27 in. The doctor thought her growth has slowed, but that was a good thing considering she was over the 100% percentile for weight.
So far she seems to be a very happy baby, but more sensitive than Addy was. She just started solids a few weeks ago and were slowly introducing new foods into her diet. She loves her big sister and stares and tries to grab her and touch her whenever possible. She loves to roll over, jump in her exersaucer, and stand up. I think she will be able to sit up on her own in a week or two since we are getting stroger by the day.
I wish I could say that she is a good sleeper, but we are still working on that. We still have her crib in our room, so that could be affecting her sleeping habits a bit. Listening to me snore all night would keep up any baby!
Addy is 21 months now and is already falling into the bossy sister roll. She likes to lecture Sophie and still loves to yell. She is attending an early childhood education class and it's helping her learn to be patient and take turns with other kids her age. Since she's not in daycare anymore we were concerned about socalizing her with other kids. Her favorite things right now are running and dancing! She loves tangled, Annie, and anything tinkerbell! She likes to carry her books around, but she not so into letting anyone read to her right now. She hates having her diaper changed and fights it, oh also getting dressed! She still loves bath time and now insist on having the shower turned on during her bath too!
She is getting a larger vocabulary by the day. Some of her favorite words are light, no, uh oh, whats that, okay, car, chirp chirp, color, more, just to name a few.
Thats about it for now. I am looking forward to the holidays, but I have to admit that I'm dreading winter. Having two little ones cooped up inside with limited activities will be a challenge, but we will do our best! :)

I'm a failure at blogging!
Ha ha! Okay well since I'm sure that nobody actually reads this anymore I am determined to try to keep up with so I can show my daughters when they are older what they were like as babies. I have myself to blame, but also the lack of a home computer. I truly envy those moms who find the time to blog on a daily basis and run a house. I find the simple day to day life with 2 children under 2 exhausting.
Anyway, I will attempt to play catch up to some degree with the last 4 months. Lets start with Sophia's birth. Induced 1 week early, thank god! 8lbs 14 oz, 21 in long. Induction went slow at first, maxed out on pitocin and not needing an epidural until the dr. broke my water. 15 min later got epidural, 15 min after that started having intense pressure/pain. Went from dilated to 5 to 10 in about 15 to 30 min. 20 min. of pushing and she was out! Wahoo easy, piece of cake compared to 4 hrs of pushing with Addy!
The first thing I thought was wow they could pass for twins, except Sophie has darker eyes. She also seemed to be more mellow than Addy right away. She was a good eater and we did make it a bit longer with the breast feeding than I did with Addy, I think about a month this time, but alas again no milk supply! :( Anyway it didn't seem to influence her growing like a giant!
Addy didn't seem to be too disturbed by her sisters presence, she was far too busy with other things. When she did notice her she seemed to like her. She would smile and hide her head or try to touch her toes. Addy has just entered a the phase where she is starting to play with dolls and pretend so I think this helped. She does get jealous at times but just that she can't have mommies attention right when she wants it anymore.
Then just as mommy's body was getting back to normal a slight set back with appendicitis and a lovely appendectomy. Also a crazy coincidence that Chris had his appendix out 1 year ago when addy was about the same age. Thankfully my quick nursing skills kicked in and I suspected it early so I was able to have a quick laproscopic surgery and was home the next day. A week of pain pills and taking it slow and then I was back to my old self.
That pretty much brings us up to date. Let me see Sophie had her 2 month checkup with a whopping 16lbs, OFF THE CHARTS! She is currently 15 weeks and wearing 9 month clothes. She had her first cold and is still a bit congested. Shes still sleeping in our room in the pack and play and we are hoping to get the crib put together this weekend. She still gets up 1 to 2 times a night for a feeding. We are noticing that just like her sister she too would like to be carried around the house all day! This makes for long days for mommy! Oh I also don't want to forget to mention that she had her first giggle. She cracked up when Addy and I were doing the hokey pokey dance. She found Addys giggling when I tickled her hilarious!
Addy is going to have her 18 month check next month and I think she will be around 30 lbs. She is wearing 2T to 3T clothes and is a great eater. She drinks from straws and open cups with assistance. Uses a fork pretty well. She is saying lots of words including: Mommy, daddy, Brooke, kitty, uh oh, no, wow, light, shoes, go outside, one, two, five, six, nine, up, all done, hi, bu bye, nye nye (night). She puts her dolly to bed, which is a easter basket, covers her, and gives then nuks. Also says nye nye to them. She loves to swim in her pool, still loves baths and has a horrible habit of tasting/licking everything! She likes to play in her sandbox, but mostly throws the sand.
Mommy is working odd shifts here and there and we are looking for daycare for the both of them soon so that we have more options for work, appointments, etc.
We will be taking a trip to michigan soon so that should be an intersting care ride. We are also looking forward to our one year anniversary! I will try to post pics soon.

37 weeks
37 weeks pregnant and patiently waiting. Ok not patiently waiting but what choice do I have. I am very large and moving around like a weeble wooble these days. It makes it very hard for chasing after a 14 month old. I'm having a lot of pelvic pain and get tired very quickly.
We had another ultrasound today and baby looks great. According to the US she is 7 lbs right now and there seems to be a lot of fluid still around the baby. Head is down but our dr said she could still move down a bit into my pelvis. Dilated to 2-3 so I'm hoping I will go into labor sooner than later! Due date is May 13th but I'm betting somewhere 8th-10th. Chris is guessing May 3rd.
Addy had a bad teething episode this weekend and has also picked up on how to throw a full fledged tantrum. She also has developed some separation anxiety and cries whenever mom or dad leaves the room. No is a new favorite word and also shaking our head no even though she means yes! Hopefully this stage will pass soon!
We have most things ready for the new baby. Chris has assembled the double stroller and we just have to install the infant car seats again. Other than that hospital bag is packed and ready to go. Fingers crossed that labor will start soon!

Finally!!!

Well it's been months since my last post, but we finally bought a cord to hook up to our tv so I can used my smashed screen computer!! Anyway there have been so many changes since the last post and Addy has grown before our eyes.
Addy had her first birthday in Feb. and is growing and hitting all of her milestones appropriately. She is now 13 months, around 26-28lbs. and still hanging in the 95th percentiles for height and weight. She started taking her first steps right around her birthday and saying a few words. She's been saying momma da da la, which means daddy, kkkkkkk which is how she calls the kitty. Also she sayd uh oh, and doggy. I am happy she doesn't run around the house saying no all day because that is what I seem to be telling her the most these days. She now goes up to things she knows she is not supposed to have, looks at me, and then shakes her head no. It's soo hard not to laugh!
She is walking good and almost running in a stumble like fashion. She loves to chase the cat, play with the dog, and read her books. She is constatnly chattering and pretend reading. I should also mention that she has one volume and that is yelling. She is a good eater and does great when we take her out to eat. She is very nosey and loves to flirt with people, smiling and chattering at strangers. Our only battle with meals is throwing food on the floor. She seems to enjoy doing that alot lateley.
We are still batteling with sleeping at night and she wakes us anywhere from 1-5 times a night on average. Luckily its only for a min and we can get her back to sleep! We are still hoping to improve on this before the new baby comes.
We are having a girl due around may 13th but I will be shocked if I go until then. I am currently 33-34 weeks right now and feeling about 40 weeks. I am already having false labor contrations here and there and have been hooked up to the monitors once at the doctors office for a non stress test. She seems to be very active and doing fine. Mom on the other hand is getting ready to pop! Ive been having issues with my pelvis. It's very painful to even walk most days and carrying addy around has become a task. In the mornings its almost as if my pelvis is "locked" and I have to walk very slowly to loosen things up. Well I don't want to right a book so I will post some random pics that have been missed over the last couple of months and more updates soon to come!
